U.S. Air Force Gen. Mark Kelly, commander of Air Combat Command, right, coins U.S. Air Force Senior Airman David Alvarado, 505th Combat Training Squadron, left, for his superior performance and recent achievements at Hurlburt Field, Florida April 6, 2021. Alvarado, a command and control battle management operator for the 505th CTS, was responsible for directing 10.3K simulated combat and reconnaissance sorties for a U.S. Marine Expeditionary Force exercise, training 18K Marines. He managed 47K attack and Suppression of Enemy Air Defenses missions which provided air support during the exercise. His expertise has made him the only junior enlisted member in the squadron to be certified to replicate key tactical command and control leadership positions to include senior director and mission crew commander.
