U.S. Air Force Tech. Sgt. Markus Johnson, a maintainer with the 552nd Maintenance Operations Squadron, works to get the E-3 Airborne Warning and Control Systems aircraft ready for flight during Red Flag 21-3, which is taking place at Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada, July 19 through Aug. 6, 2021. Red Flag provides aircrews the experience of multiple, intensive air combat sorties in the safety of a training environment. The training takes place on the Nevada Test and Training Range, the U.S. Air Force’s premier military training area with more than 12,000 square miles of airspace and 2.9 million acres of land. Nellis is the last stop before warfighters meet adversaries on the battlefield. (Air Force photo by Kimberly Woodruff)
