Welcome to the jungle: Special warfare Airmen acclimate to Indo-Pacific environment

U.S. Air Force Senior Airman Jon Mellen, 38th Rescue Squadron Blue Team pararescueman, draws blood from Tech. Sgt. Joshua Nuñez, 607th Air Support Operations Group Joint Terminal Attack Controller, in the jungle of Wahiawa, Hawaii, March 29, 2022. Mellen ejected the blood into a designated aging pit to see how the blood changed over time in the jungle environment. The aging pit allows trackers to see how different objects react to the environment over time and use that information to be better informed while tracking personnel. The 38th RQS Blue Team pararescuemen trained in jungle warfare to adapt personnel rescue tactics, techniques and procedures for the Indo-Pacific region. (U.S. Air Force photo by Staff Sgt.
