1st FW reopens hypobaric chamber

U.S. Air Force Tech. Sgt. Jessica Christian, 1st Operation Support Squadron non-commissioned officer in charge, ensures the gears is strapped on correctly inside of the hypobaric chamber at Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Virginia, Oct. 11, 2022. The hypobaric chamber is designed to simulate the effects of high altitude on the human body in a controlled environment. The chamber went into a “mothball” status in 2014, but has been reopened as an active training device that, together with the APF, will now support a region of more than 24 states and several hundred permanent party officers and enlisted flyers from across the JBLE community.
