Boom operator returns to the controls 50 years after retirement

Retired Master Sgt. Eugene T. Beal lays in the boom operator’s controls of a KC-135 Stratotanker, April 3, 2023, at Beale Air Force Base, California. Eugene enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in March 1952 as a tail gunner in the B-29 Superfortress.
