David, a certified therapy dog with the True North program, sits with Capt. Dennis Cook, an F-35 pilot in the 4th Fighter Squadron at Hill Air Force Base, Utah. David is a constant fixture in the fighter squadrons and makes regular visits to Airmen around the wing. Therapy dogs aren’t new to the military and veteran community, but they are relatively new to the 388th Fighter Wing as part of the Air Force’s True North program, which assigns mental health providers and religious support teams directly to units.
