The End-Fire Glide Slope is an antenna system used to overcome physical barriers to help guide pilots when landing on the runway with visibility issues at Offutt Air Force Base. The EFGS doesn’t need special ground preparation like other systems, it saves airports a lot of money, often over a million dollars. (U.S. Air Force photo by D.P. Heard)
