SMART Scholars ‘get schooled’ on AFTAC

Five students from various colleges and universities across the nation visited the Air Force Technical Applications Center June 26, 2025 as part of the U.S. Air Force’s SMART Scholar Program. SMART, which stands for science and math research transformation, is a comprehensive career development program that offers personalized mentorship and a network of Defense Department professionals to students who are attending an accredited institution of higher learning within the United States. Here, the students watched an in-depth mission video about AFTAC’s nuclear treaty monitoring mission in the center’s Heritage Room. (U.S. Air Force photo by Matthew S. Jurgens)
