  • 20th IS initiative brings first fully-operational Spark Hub to Offutt

    In June 2018, five members from the 20th Intelligence Squadron, part of the 363rd Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Group at Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Virginia, began building a network of like-minded Airmen to out-innovate U.S. adversaries. Today, this network, known as Soaring Buffalo, consists of Airmen from multiple Air Force career fields, squadrons, wings, Numbered Air Forces and major commands working together to solve warfighter problems.

    AFTAC continues cooperative R&D agreement with FIT

    The Air Force Technical Applications Center here renewed its cooperative research and development agreement with Florida Institute of Technology March 1 at a symbolic signing held at the university’s Melbourne, Florida, campus.

    ISR Effects initiative connects intel Airmen with outcome of efforts

    Intelligence analysts are often the driving force behind mission successes worldwide. Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Airmen take data from all domains, analyze it and turn it into decision quality information for countless customers on a daily basis. One of the issues in providing intelligence with a continuous operations tempo is that analysts often do not receive feedback regarding the fruits of their labor. Consequently, a few members of the 8th Intelligence Squadron launched an initiative to scour systems of records and build communication bridges with mission partners to instill the true impact and effectiveness of intelligence analysts’ hard work.

    Congressional staffers learn about AFTAC’s heritage, mission

    Three members of U.S. Rep. Bill Posey’s (FL-8) office visited the Air Force Technical Applications Center March 4 to learn more about the center’s rich history and heritage.

    Cyber Airmen successfully convert AFSC in HAF initiative

    Approximately one year ago, Headquarters Air Force kicked off an initiative to promote increased cyber fundamentals training across all Air Force Specialty Codes. The objective was meant to help determine differential training for Airmen in knowledge operations management, cybersurety, cable and antenna systems, computer systems programming and client systems career fields.
