    The 552nd Air Control Networks Squadron graduated nine students from the Air Force’s first Mission Qualification Training course for Mission Defense Teams, qualifying these students to be operators on the Cyberspace Vulnerability Assessment/Hunter Weapon System. The creation of this course formalized the training pipeline for MDT cyber operators defending the AWACS and Control and Reporting Centers systems.

The 325th Communications Squadron’s MDT is the first operational unit of its kind in Air Combat Command, and the base exercise emphasized the Command’s cyber efforts by showcasing the unit’s communication with Joint Base Langley Eustis’ Cyber Defense Operation Center prototype.
  • Tyndall Mission Defense Team conducts first exercise

    The 325th Communications Squadron Mission Defense Team participated in their first exercise since becoming the first operational MDT at Tyndall AFB June 11-15, 2018. The focus of the exercise was to test the ability of the 325th Fighter Wing to generate aircraft sorties in a simulated deployed environment. As Tyndall is the largest contingency of F-22 Raptors in the world, the MDT’s mission is vital to maintaining the aircrafts’ weapons system sustainability, lethality and reliability. The MDT is responsible for mission assurance at the base-level and focuses on defensive cyber operations of Air Force weapons systems.
