  • Global reach powers air superiority

    A KC-135 Stratotanker from the 101st Air Refueling Wing refuels F-22 Raptors from the 94th Fighter Squadron over the Atlantic Ocean, Feb. 22, 2018. The Stratotanker refueled four Raptors during this routine training mission. Refueling missions help the 94th Fighter Squadron accomplish their task of providing rapid air superiority to the United States and its allies. This total force training mission involved an Air National Guard refueling team, base out of Maine, and an active duty fighter jet team, based out of Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Virginia.

The F-35As are participating in the first-ever training deployment to Europe. The aircraft and total force Airmen are from the 34th Fighter Squadron, 388th Fighter Wing, and the Air Force Reserve’s 466th Fighter Squadron, 419th Fighter Wing, Hill Air Force Base, Utah.

  • Airmen fuel the fight

    A group of F-16CM Fighting Falcons take off from the foggy flightline. They soar above the clouds and into the airspace over the Atlantic Ocean, heading east until they can no longer see the land behind them. Despite the meticulous checklists run on aircraft before they take flight, the jets are running low on fuel after being airborne for less than an hour.
