Air Force Vice Chief of Staff Gen. Stephen W. Wilson toured the 53rd Wing, at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida to gain a better understanding of 53rd Electronic Warfare readiness. The 53rd Electronic Warfare Group has 28 labs that replicate the hardware for over 30 weapon systems where all EW reprogramming for Combat Air Force aircraft takes place. The 53rd Wing has 74 units in 23 locations responsible for fighter, bomber, space and remotely piloted air vehicle operational testing and evaluation, and tactics development and evaluation in the areas of electronic combat, armament, avionics and aircrew training devices.
