This was the second time he attempted to combat the effects alcohol was having on his life.

While heading out for an early morning workout, an Airman 1st Class, administrative apprentice, came to a screeching halt when he received a text message from his sibling regarding an alarming social media video.

    Early on Dec. 9, 2015, Staff Sgt. Rasheed, a 7th Intelligence Squadron signals intelligence analyst, experienced a cerebral aneurysm. From what he can recall, and what he has been told, a neighbor found him unresponsive in his Maryland apartment while his dog ran loose outside, door wide open.
  • AF boosts environment with plant relocation

    Volunteers helped the 633rd Civil Engineer Squadron relocate pollinator plants from the Bethel Park Pollinator Garden to the nature trail on Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Virginia. Once an old dumping ground, the pollinator garden was installed at Bethel Park in 2014 in accordance with the National Public Lands Day project to help clean up the area. The garden plants provided food or habitat for pollinator organisms such as hummingbirds, bees, butterflies, and occasionally small mammals. A grant from the National Environmental Education Foundation and the Department of Defense Legacy Resource Management Program awarded funds to 633rd CES personnel to plant a garden, however, due to the location of the garden, it has been underutilized by the public and overgrown with weeds.

    Developed in the mid 1990’s by the NASA Geographic Information System office, the Flood Impact Analysis Tool illustrates the effects of localized tidal storm flooding. Through a partnership with NASA, the 633rd Civil Engineer Squadron at Langley Air Force Base benefits from the multi-functioning tool, which arrived to the base in 2006.

    70th ISRW participants endured a seven-mile obstacle course of cargo net walls, creeks, ice cold water and climbing to test their stamina and strength as a team during the 2016 Savage Race October 8, 2016 at Kennedyville, Md.
