  • Weather Wing Targets Elsa

    The 557th Weather Wing, the Air Force’s only wing of its kind, marshalled significant capabilities to track and predict the behavior of Hurricane Elsa as it formed in the Atlantic Ocean. Even before the system strengthened into a named storm, the wing had armed commanders in the Southeastern United States with forecasts of when and where the storm might strike, as well as possible impacts to operations. The wing accelerated change ahead of the 2021 hurricane season to ensure commanders at all echelons have access to the information they need for decision superiority.
  • AFCEC helps Air Force transition to the next generation KC-46A tanker

    The Air Force Civil Engineer Center is expanding global reach through a multi-phase construction effort to support the new KC-46A Pegasus refueling tanker. Four other bases have already received the KC-46A: McConnell AFB, Kansas, followed by Altus AFB, Oklahoma, Pease Air National Guard Base, New Hampshire, and Seymour Johnson AFB, North Carolina.
  • Davis-Monthan hosts blood drive

    During a global pandemic you have to prioritize what is essential and what can wait till later. Local patients and those around the nation that are in need of blood can’t wait for the COVID-19 concerns to end to receive the blood they need. Senior Airman Dakota Edwards, 355th Equipment Maintenance Squadron, helped ensure blood donations from Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, Arizona, continued to flow.
  • Gunfighter Airmen give back to community through basketball

    It’s always good to have Airmen who set their eyes on giving back. Senior Airman Aarien Foster, 366th Equipment Maintenance Squadron aircraft structural maintenance journeyman, used his passion for basketball and skills as a leader to start a basketball program in order to bring the Gunfighter community together. Foster launched the plan to assemble a team after arriving to Mountain Home AFB and learning they didn’t have one.
