From high-risk youth to national award winner – One Airman’s inspirational journey
This extraordinary Airman, who graduated from Penn State, loves the work he does for the Air Force and his country, but things did not always come easy to him.
A Buffalo, New York, native, U.S. Air Force Maj. Michael Butler has many accomplishments, including five Air Force-level awards, and soon he will add recipient of the prestigious, national Arthur S. Flemming Award to the list. The annual Flemming award honors outstanding federal employees who made significant and extraordinary contributions to the federal government. Butler won in the leadership and management category.

RPA commanders visit newest Airmen
Col. Julian Cheater, 432nd Wing/432nd Air Expeditionary Wing commander, and select squadron commanders visited the United States Air Force graduating class of Basic Military Training Oct. 20, 2017, at Joint Base San Antonio, Texas.
Leaders of the premier MQ-1 Predator and MQ-9 Reaper combat wing witnessed 700 trainees graduate to become the next generation of Airmen.
