    She dives into the pool, as the cool water envelopes her body and she begins to feel weightless. She comes to the surface kicking and pulling, feeling the water begin to rush past her as she picks up speed until she’s at a full sprint… Preparation to be the fastest in the world has begun. “My mom threw me into a pool when I was a small child, and I’ve been swimming ever since,” said U.S. Air Force 1st Lt. Genevieve Miller, 17th Intelligence Squadron deputy flight commander. “But I've been swimming competitively since I was five or six on a club team.”
  • Load crew competition challenges maintainers

    The 1st Maintenance Squadron hosted a Weapons Load Crew of the Quarter competition with the 94th and 27th Aircraft Maintenance Units competing, Oct. 28, 2016 at Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Virginia. The competition is held every quarter and allows the load crews from each AMU to showcase their skills and abilities while loading the aircraft with munitions.
  • D-M hosts A-10's Hawgsmoke competition

    Davis-Monthan Air Force Base hosted this year’s Hawgsmoke competition June 1-3.The biennial competition focused on tactics the aircraft can employ during combat operations. This year’s event concentrated on two major areas: the tactical massing of fires in minimum time in an opposed environment, and conventional weapons delivery.
