  • Air Force workshop focuses on installation support, environmental stewardship

    Building resilient installations was the theme of an Air Force Civil Engineer Center workshop that brought together environmental, public affairs and other base professionals August 13 to 15 in San Antonio. More than 400 military and civilians were on-hand at the 2019 Air Force Environmental Workshop to focus on the role of environmental restoration and protection in ensuring installations are mission ready. The workshop focused on enabling the Air Force environmental mission of building resilient installations through environmental stewardship.

  • Ground transportation keeps Moody moving

    The 23d Logistics Readiness Squadron ground transportation flight services 56 vehicles equaling more than $3.8 million in assets. The flight serves as a focal point of support, from dispatching buses for base tours to transporting the bulk of airframe equipment to squadrons across the base.
  • 71st AMU keeps 'Combat Kings' mission ready

    Airmen from the 71st Aircraft Maintenance Unit perform various tasks prior to takeoff to ensure the aircraft is performing optimally to complete its mission of supporting the 71st Rescue Squadron. Those tasks consist of: pre-flight inspection, removing plugs and cover, repairing any problems found during crew pre-flight checks as well as marshaling the aircraft for take-off.

    Moody hosted the 2019 First Sergeant Symposium for Airmen from squadrons across base, Aug. 7-9. The three-day symposium was designed to be a tool to help educate Air Force personnel on the role and responsibilities of the first sergeant.
