    “We stepped out of our vehicle and the first thing we heard was ‘I can’t find my daughter,” recalled Senior Airman Robert Walsh, 4th Logistic Readiness Squadron fuels specialist. It was 2:00 a.m. on a busy highway road when the Airmen noticed a car crash involving two vehicles, one of which appeared to have rolled over several times causing two passengers to be ejected from the vehicle as it rolled, added Walsh.

This was 15-year-old Jeffrey Barbour’s first experience in a burning building after joining the Hampton Fire Department on July 10, 1972, following a long line of firefighting family members.

    The 55th Operations Group is constructing a new aircrew training device as part of an effort to replace the three ATDs destroyed in the Offutt Air Force Base March flood. This new simulator is needed to aid Team Offutt initial, requalification and continuation air crew training in an organized environment.

A-10 Thunderbolt IIs are not immune to wear and tear and Airmen assigned to the 355th Equipment Maintenance Squadron A-10 Phase section are responsible for ensuring these aircraft uphold a war-ready status.
