  • Auto-GCAS team wins prestigious award

    The National Aeronautic Association announced that the Automatic Ground Collision Avoidance System Team as the recipients of the 2018 Robert J. Collier Trophy. The trophy will be formally presented at a dinner event in Washington D.C. in June.
  • AF PEAT lead visits Joint Base Langley-Eustis

    The Air Force Physiological Episodes Action Team (AF PEAT) lead visited the NASA Langley Research Center here March 28, 2019, to discuss the importance of an ongoing pilot breathing assessment (PBA) with senior Air Combat Command health officials and NASA engineers. Brig. Gen. Edward Vaughan and his team met at the NASA Engineering and Safety Center to analyze F/A-18 and F-15 liquid-oxygen-configured NASA aircraft to better understand the causes of physiological episodes (PE) in the Navy and Air Force.
  • Langley 1 of 4 AFBs to test bio-based grease

    The 733rd Logistics Readiness Squadron Vehicle Management Flight was chosen to participate in a 12-month long experimental testing of a new bio-based grease to lessen the base's impact on the environment. The 441st Vehicle Support Chain Operations Squadron and representatives from the Defense Logistics Agency briefed the vehicle management flight about the impact of the bio-based grease on the three vehicles chosen to test the grease Jan. 31.
  • AF partners with NASA for mission success

    Developed in the mid 1990’s by the NASA Geographic Information System office, the Flood Impact Analysis Tool illustrates the effects of localized tidal storm flooding. Through a partnership with NASA, the 633rd Civil Engineer Squadron at Langley Air Force Base benefits from the multi-functioning tool, which arrived to the base in 2006.
