  • Bringing the fight to COVID-19: Creech conducts serology testing

    Photo Essay: Medical personnel from the Creech Medical Clinic and the 99th Medical Group conducted a blood draw for COVID-19 serology testing on July 7, 2020 at Creech Air Force Base, Nevada, . The objective of serology testing is to determine if the test can identify personnel who had COVID-19 but were asymptomatic or not diagnosed, or if the saliva test is sufficient for evaluation. The results of these tests will serve as a metric for medical professionals to determine the percentage of the Creech population, who were infected by the virus and now have antibodies. Research from Joint Base Langley-Eustis suggests that swab tests have a sensitivity of 70-80% and that serology has a 98% sensitivity.
