  • Mission assurance: One Airman's idea has potential to improve entire Air Force

    An Airman from the 363rd Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Wing stepped outside the box this spring and proposed an idea that significantly improved local mission assurance. Thanks to a platform set up by the 363rd ISRW leadership team, he was able to pursue his idea and benefit not only the wing, but also potentially the entire Air Force.

    363d ISRW takes innovation from buzzword to reality

    Innovation is no longer just a buzzword; it’s a reality (virtually) at the 363d Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Wing. Over a 10-day period, the wing’s senior leadership and Airmen from the 363d ISRW worked with industry partners in a collaborative workspace right in the heart of downtown Norfolk, Virginia. The objective was to use virtual reality software to simulate notional adversary scenarios with multiple targets in various stages.
  • The three-day conference allowed Airmen Resiliency Team members from throughout the geographically separated Wing to connect with over 160 peers from other services and nations, increase their knowledge of the challenges analysts are facing, and hone their skills to make a greater impact on the Airmen they support.

    The ART of training the total force

    In July, the 480th Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Wing’s ART held a Total Force Integration Conference at Joint Base Andrews, Maryland, allowing ART members from throughout the geographically separated Wing to connect for three days with over 160 peers from other services and nations, increase their knowledge of the challenges analysts are facing, and to hone team member’s skills.

    Advocates for change: 70th ISRW presents Innovation Summit 2018

    Innovation is a word that is often misapplied, overused or just seen as a buzzword. But, innovation for the 70th Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Wing and the Intelligence Community is a necessity to stay ahead of adversaries. The 70th ISRW continued to build a powerful network of innovators as they hosted an Innovation Summit at College Park, Maryland, on July 24, 2018, to help connect motivated individuals from across the wing and the Intelligence Community.

  • Embedded care teams work to improve Airman resiliency

    For Airmen at the 363rd Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Wing, stress is an occupational hazard. Pressing deadlines, a heavy workload and constant pressure are requirements of the mission. They are also one of a growing number of units combating those stressors with an embedded care initiative, known as an Airman Resiliency Team, which fully integrates medical and spiritual support teams into the unit.

    When Lady comes bounding into a room, surprisingly graceful and hidden under a coat of thick white dog fur, the atmosphere changes. People emerge from their cubicles out of curiosity, they pet her and they laugh as she nuzzles their legs. Lady is a five-year-old, 80-pound Great Pyrenee with a job to do. A nationally-certified therapy dog, she is the newest member of the 363rd Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Wing’s Airman Resilience Team.

    Direct Support Operator Recognized for Exceptional Contributions to Mackay Trophy Aircrew

    Every year, an aircrew is selected for the Clarence Mackay Trophy, which is presented to an aircrew for accomplishing the most meritorious flight of the year. This year, an AC-130U aircrew from Air Force Special Operations Command, which included one of 25th Air Force’s outstanding Airmen, was recognized with the honor.
