    81 FS says farewell to last Nigerian Air Force class

    The 81st Fighter Squadron hosted training with the Nigerian Air Force on the A-29 Super Tucano light attack aircraft since September 2020, and has graduated its final class at Moody Air Force Base, Georgia, Sept. 2, 2021.

    81st FS graduates final AAF class

    The 81st Fighter Squadron, a geographically separated unit assigned to the 14th Flying Training Wing, Columbus Air Force Base, Mississippi, graduated its last class of Afghan A-29 Super Tucano student pilots on Nov. 13, here. The class will be the last Afghan Air Force class to train at the 81st FS in a program spanning five years and graduating more than 30 student pilots and 70 maintenance technicians.

    Moody Airmen earn national community volunteer award

    Three Moody Airmen were recognized during the 2017 National Public Benefit Flying Awards, Nov. 29, in Arlington, Va. Taking home the Distinguished Volunteer award, these Airmen hosted the largest Legacy Flight Academy’s “Eyes Above the Horizon” youth aviation diversity outreach event in honor of the Tuskegee Airmen. This past summer, they gave approximately 100 South Georgian youth a chance to fly and explore aviation and Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics career opportunities.

    Lebanese student conducts first ‘in seat’ A-29 flight

    A Lebanese A-29 Super Tucano pilot trainee, from the 81st Fighter Squadron, conducted the first ‘in seat’ training sortie March 22, 2017, here. The program, which began earlier this month, is designed to ensure the Lebanon air force receives the support and training needed to safely and effectively employ the A-29 aircraft.
