  • AFCEC expands ‘RADR readiness’ with new training sites 

    Just a few years ago, the Air Force Civil Engineer Center overhauled the way Airmen recover damaged airfields. Today, the center is helping expand Air Force Rapid Airfield Damage Repair training opportunities by more than quadrupling the number of stateside training sites. Currently, Tyndall is the only RADR training site in the continental United States.

  • Silver Flag performs first exercise since Hurricane Michael

    Hurricane Michael altered the landscape where many Airmen worked, trained and lived. With the flood of changes, a return normalcy is a priority for the base. Tyndall’s first step to normal operations was to reestablish its mission sets. The 823rd REDHORSE Squadron Detachment 1 reignited its training capabilities Jan. 8, 2019, propelling its first wave of 165 students toward a deployable and mission-ready status.
