U.S. Air Force Gen. Hawk Carlisle commander of Air Combat Command announced the ACC Outstanding Airmen of the Year (OAY), First Sergeant of the Year (FSOY) Annual award Winners today. "Each year, we select one Airman from each category to represent the amazing Airmen of Air Combat Command. My thanks to each of you for taking the time to nominate all of the individuals submitted. The caliber of those nominated was impressive to say the least. It was an extremely close competition....all should be very proud," said Gen. Carlisle.

The 55th Wing marked another historic milestone when a Royal Air Force RC-135 ‘Airseeker’ aircraft diverted to Offutt Air Force Base after experiencing landing gear problems during a joint exercise at Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada.

The Leadership Pathway’s program here has awarded its first Gold certificate to a member of the Team Offutt community. Senior Airman Alex Fausnight, 338th Combat Training Squadron, took full advantage of the program and received his gold certificate for attending 23 courses in the Leadership Pathways Course Catalog.

OFFUTT AIR FORCE BASE Neb.,-- An E-4B aircraft an emergency mobile command and control center, is towed out of it's hangar at the east end of Offutt's runway June 17. The E-4B serves as the National Airborne Operations Center for the president, secretary of defense and the Joint Chiefs of Staff. If needed, the E-4B can provide a command, control and communications center to direct U.S. forces, execute emergency war orders and coordinate actions by civil authorities. The 595th Command and Control Group will be activated under Air Force Global Strike Command in an Oct. 6 ceremony at Offutt Air Force Base, Neb. The realignment will focus the 1st Airborne Command Control Squadron, the 595th Strategic Communications Squadron, the 595th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron and the 625th Strategic Operations Squadron under the Eighth Air Force.
