    Hurricane Dorian Evacuation Order: Due to projected storm surge, potential partial power shutdown and anticipated flooding of low-lying areas of Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Col. Clinton Ross, 633rd Air Base Wing commander is issuing a mandatory evacuation to the nearest “safe” available accommodations for those residents’ on Langley Air Force Base, living in Lighter-Than-Air, Heavier-than-Air housing and lodging effective immediately.
  • 116th Air Control Wing evacuates JSTARS aircraft ahead of Hurricane Dorian

    The 116th Air Control Wing, Georgia Air National Guard, began relocating the fleet of E-8C Joint STARS aircraft stationed on the installation, Sept. 2, to prevent potential damage from Hurricane Dorian. The Joint STARS have relocated temporarily to Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma, where they will wait while Hurricane Dorian travels up the eastern coast of the United States.

    A F/A-18E Super Hornet assigned to the ‘Vigilantes’ of Strike Fighter Squadron 151 based at Naval Air Station Lemoore, California, crashed east of Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake, California. Shortly after the F/A-18E’s July 31 crash, the Navy reached out to the 51st Combat Communications Squadron, HAMMER Adaptive Communication Element from Robins Air Force Base, because there was a serious need for communication services throughout their vast recovery area.
