49 years later, the F-15 Streak Eagle record still a story of air dominance
F-15A, tail number 72-0119, sits on the runway at Grand Forks Air Force Base, North Dakota in March 1975. A specialized hold back explosive bolt attached to a steel cable replaced the tailhook for the record attempts.
