  • 1st Fighter Wing Raptors deploy to support WestPac

    A contingent of 94th Fighter Squadron Airmen and F-22 Raptors assigned to the 1st Fighter Wing, Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Virginia deployed to Andersen Air Force Base, Guam, to conduct missions in the Western Pacific. By working alongside allied and joint partner air forces, WestPac aims to integrate 4th and 5th generation fighters, and provide an opportunity to build experience and competence in dynamic force employment processes and concepts.
  • ACC Command Surgeon, Mental Health Branch Chief, address Covid-19 reluctance 

    Brig. Gen. Sharon Bannister, command surgeon of Air Combat Command and Lt. Col. Michael McCarthy, ACC mental health branch chief, virtually discussed staying remote and ready, with ACC Public Affairs Oct. 6, 2020. A few of the primary topics that were discussed with Bannister and McCarthy are the reluctance of reporting when having symptoms related to COVID-19 and testing availability, and, with flu season approaching, how do we determine one over the other.
  • ACC Agile Flag experiment paves way for lead wings

    Agile Flag 21-1 at Tyndall Air Force Base, Florida, came to a close, Oct. 29, 2020, as the first of its’ kind event to test the effectiveness of “Lead Wings.” The lead wing for this exercise was the 366th Fighter Wing from Mountain Home Air Force Base, Idaho, and 250 Airmen from six units from across the Air Force, who participated to better understand the diverse requirements that will go into certifying the lead-wing concept for Air Combat Command.
  • 38th RQS Airman receives Silver Star

    U.S. Air Force Maj. Gen. Chad P. Franks, 15th Air Force commander, presented Staff Sgt. Nicholas Brunetto, 38th Rescue Squadron pararescueman, with a Silver Star Medal Oct. 29. Brunetto performed a lifesaving procedure on a severely-injured teammate while deployed in February 2020 in support of Operation Freedom’s Sentinel and the Resolute Support mission.
  • Dominate the Spectrum: ACC Emphasizes EMS

    The Electromagnetic Spectrum (EMS) connects forces on land, in the air, at sea, space, and cyberspace. The EMS connects you in your personal and professional life, but this is a battlespace, and it must be won in each and every conflict. In Air Combat Command, the EMS is at the forefront of technological development supporting the Air Force, especially through the progression of electromagnetic warfare. It ultimately affects how ACC, and the Air Force, will engage in and through the EMS in the future.
  • ACC to conduct experiment testing agility and lead wing concepts during AGILE FLAG 21-1

    Air Combat Command will conduct an experiment known as Agile Flag 21-1 from Oct. 21-29 to test agile combat employment and a new lead wing deployment concept. During Agile Flag 21-1, the 366th Fighter Wing from Mountain Home AFB, Idaho, will test its ability to deploy as a lead Air Expeditionary Wing with a wing-level air staff. The unit will employ mission generation, command and control, and base operating support elements from its main operating base at Tyndall AFB, Florida, while supporting a forward operating base at Hurlburt Field, Florida, and a contingency location at Eglin AFB, Florida.
  • Airman protects lives, receives medal

    Late in the evening of early May, one Airman jumped into action, remembering his training, after spotting the luminous flash of a burning house in Valdosta, Georgia. Tech. Sgt. Johnathan O’Connor, 23d Operations Support Squadron NCO in charge of the combat intelligence cell, responded without hesitation, saved two lives and received an Air Force Commendation Medal to commend his efforts.
  • Fifteenth Air Force activates, consolidates ACC’s conventional forces

    Fifteenth Air Force activated Aug. 20, integrating wings and direct reporting units from 12th Air Force and Ninth Air Force to form a new numbered air force responsible for generating and presenting Air Combat Command’s conventional forces.
