JBLE hosts medical equipment summit

The Air Combat Command Surgeon General Office hosted the Manpower and Equipment Force Packaging Summit at Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Virginia, June 4, 2019. Members from various U.S. Air Force major commands attended the summit to view demonstrations and capabilities that may boost efficiency in the Expeditionary Medical Systems field. Summit attendees, including members from the U.S. Air Force Special Operations Command, Air Combat Command, Pacific Air Forces and the Air Force Medical Operations Agency, examined modern medical shelter options in an effort to revitalize patient care in challenging environments.

ACC EMEDS team deploys to support hurricane-ravaged Puerto Rico

As Puerto Rico continues to reel from the devastation wrought by Hurricane Maria, Air Combat Command deployed medical assets Oct. 18 to provide relief to the community and supplement teams that have already begun relief efforts. The 633rd Medical Group from Joint Base Langley-Eustis has one of the Air Force’s four Expeditionary Medical Support groups. They train year round to ensure they’re ready and able to deploy in the event of a disaster like the one facing Puerto Rico today.

AF medics deploy to Puerto Rico, aid hurricane relief efforts

Approximately 87 members assigned to the 633rd Medical Group departed Joint Base Langley-Eustis to set up and operate a 25-bed Expeditionary Medical Support field hospital in support of hurricane relief efforts in Puerto Rico, Oct. 15-17, 2017.
