    AFCEC expands ‘RADR readiness’ with new training sites 

    Just a few years ago, the Air Force Civil Engineer Center overhauled the way Airmen recover damaged airfields. Today, the center is helping expand Air Force Rapid Airfield Damage Repair training opportunities by more than quadrupling the number of stateside training sites. Currently, Tyndall is the only RADR training site in the continental United States.

    Two KC-46A Pegasus aircraft assigned to the 916th Air Refueling wing, Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, North Carolina, provided air-to-air refueling for an HC-130J Combat King II aircraft assigned to the 71st Rescue Squadron, Moody Air Force Base, Georgia, Aug. 24, 2021.

    Keeping Moody safe one critter at a time

    To prevent mishaps on the airfield and possible damage to aircraft caused by birds and other animals, Lauren Smith and her dog, Teal, monitor and control the wildlife and habitats in and around Moody Air Force Base’s airfield. As a part of the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Bird/Wildlife Aircraft Strike Hazard (BASH) program, her goal is to keep Airmen and other assets safe by identifying and reducing wildlife threats to aviation safety.

    Each September, National Preparedness Month is observed to emphasize the importance of planning and preparing for emergencies that can impact our homes, families, and communities.

    Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over; avoiding DUIs saves lives

    According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, every day roughly 28 people die in accidents involving drivers who were under the influence or while intoxicated. That statistic equates to about one loss of life every 52 minutes.
