SHAW AIR FORCE BASE, S.C. -- Airmen assigned to the 77th Fighter Squadron and 77th Fighter Generation Squadron deployed to Prince Sultan Air Base, Saudi Arabia.
While deployed, the 77th “Gamblers” will generate combat airpower to increase regional stability and security.
“Our Team Shaw Airmen are going downrange to deliver dominant airpower and execute a mission of national, regional and global importance,” said Col. Lawrence T. Sullivan, 20th Fighter Wing commander. “This deployment is an example of our commitment to provide strategic depth, resiliency and operational agility to our international allies and partners in the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility.”
The 20th FW’s unrelenting preparedness has made the team continually stronger and more able to quickly adapt and respond to operations downrange.
“The Gamblers are ready to patrol the skies, deliver precision airstrikes and train alongside regional partners to maximize capabilities in regards to mutual security concerns,” said Lt. Col. David Bennett, 77th FS commander.
The Gambler's deployment is a small representation of the immense fighting force that calls Shaw home.
“I am proud of Weasel Nation’s teamwork and expertise getting our deployers out the door safely,” said Sullivan. “I am also grateful to the Gamblers and their families who are continuing to make sacrifices in support of our ongoing combat taskings.”
