9/2/2009 - MOUNTAIN HOME AIR FORCE BASE, Idaho -- Starting Sept. 14, Gunfighters may notice an increase in flying operations with a myriad of planes and visitors as part of the first-ever Gunfighter Flag 2009.

The multinational exercise will include visitors from Nellis Air Force Base, Nev.; Schriever Air Force Base, Colo.; Phoenix Air National Guard, Ariz.; Tinker Air Force Base, Okla.; Whidbey Island Naval Air Station, Wash.; and Cold Lake, Alberta, Canada.

"This exercise will maximize coalition and U.S. Air Force large force exercise training through realistic dissimilar aircraft training scenarios and advanced air-to-air and air-to-ground tactics," said Maj. Matt Vincent, 390th Fighter Squadron assistant director of operations. "This also gives us the opportunity to bolster international relationships with a vital North American Aerospace Defense Command partner."

The exercise will run from Sept. 14 through 25.
