AMIC ENGINEERING, REAL ESTATE AND ENVIRONMENTAL DI

The primarily function of the engineering section is to support ACC AMIC, TARS, HRS, FOL, OTH-B, and IADS programs. Engineers are assigned to programs providing expertise and continuity. Their primary duties include validating, approving, programming and prioritizing facility requirements. They will also develop designs and perform construction management inspections. Engineers also provide the engineering expertise for large-scale service contracts and monitor the contractors' facility O&M managers. Engineers oversee technical execution of projects and use various avenues for designs, construction and inspections of projects such as A-E contracts, the Army Corps of Engineers, the Navy facilities personnel and ACC CONS. Under Construction Management we oversee the execution of professionally designed projects. We strive to provide quality built, functional facilities, with-in budget, on-time and with minimum modifications. Specializing in constructing and maintaining facilities in remote areas throughout the United States, and around the world to include repairing, upgrading and replacing facilities. We contract professional construction inspection services to provide day-to-day inspection, or perform the service in-house--which ever is the most cost effective. The construction management personnel are trained in both field and office aspects of construction management.

PCE Production Control
ACC AMIC Production Control is responsible for all maintenance, repair and minor construction work order and project requirements in support of IADS, OTHB, TARS, FOL, and HRS contract programs. It reviews work requirements, recommends priority, method of accomplishment, and tracks status. Performs site visits to ensure contractor performance and validate work requirements. Organizes work request review boards for civil engineer approval of identified requirements. Project approval authority is $700,000 for minor construction and $3 million for repair work.

PCE IADS Program
This serves as program support for the Iceland Air Defense System (IADS). It is responsible for maintaining infrastructure for four radar sites and one command center. It develops civil engineer requirements for the IADS program. Duties include overseeing work functions, liaison between the U.S. government and Icelandic government, and resolving technical issues to minimize site downtime and restore capability for surveillance operations.

PCE OTH-B Program
This serves as program support for the Over-the-Horizon Backscatter (OTH-B) radar system. Responsible for maintaining radar site infrastructure, at six geographic locations on the east and west coasts of the continental United States. Duties include overseeing work functions; resolve technical issues, and acts as a liaison between the contractor and the Air Force. Under stand-down status, the system is configured in caretaker maintenance mode.

PCE TARS
TARS serves as program support for Tethered Aerostat Radar System (TARS) supporting DoD's counter narcotic and air defense missions. Responsible for maintaining all infrastructure for an eight site TARS network throughout the southern border of the United States and Puerto Rico. They develop estimates, statements of work, procure contractors and provide construction management for all projects. Technically evaluate Architect/Engineering firm design projects. It is responsible for project development, contractor procurement, and construction inspection for site development to support an eight-site wind profiler (automated doppler radar) network. Approving section for all contractor-generated work requests. Manage TARS 420K fixed mooring system standardization initiative. Duties include overseeing work functions, liaison between contractors, and resolving technical issues to minimize site downtime and restore capability for surveillance operations.

PCE HRS
Serves as program support for Hemispheric Radar System (HRS) supporting DoD's counter narcotic and air defense missions. Responsible for maintaining infrastructure for five radar sites, two host nation command centers in South America, and one command center in the U.S. They technically evaluate architect/engineering firm design projects. It is also responsible for developing the civil engineer requirements for the Hemispheric Radar System (HRS) procurement. Duties include overseeing work functions, liaison between contractors, and resolving technical issues to minimize site downtime and restore capability for surveillance operations.

PCE FOL BOS
This serves as program support for Forward Operating Location (FOL) and Base Operating Support (BOS) supporting DoD's counter narcotic and air defense missions. It is responsible for maintaining all infrastructure, fire protection and prevention, quarter's management and disaster preparedness and emergency operations at two sites in Ecuador and the Netherlands Antilles. The duties include overseeing work functions, technically evaluate contractor submitted maintenance plans, serve as civil engineer liaison between contractor, contracting and other Air Force staff agencies, and resolving technical issues.
