Shale Norwitz’s duty to protect and serve took precedence. Due to this application of military training and a unique diagnosis, Norwitz safely extracted the occupants of the vehicle, led victims away from the wreckage, and redirected the flow of traffic.

    Explosive Ordnance Disposal members from the 4th Civil Engineer Squadron at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, North Carolina hosted and participated in field training exercise Operation Guillotine along with EOD members from Shaw AFB, South Carolina and Andrews AFB, Maryland, July 26 – July 30, 2021. The FTX focused on dismounted, outside the continental United States improvised explosive device operations.

AJ Arteaga, aircrew flight equipment reservist with the 419th OSS. “That also includes their helmet.”
