    The 28th Test and Evaluation Squadron conducted a Force Development Evaluation to operationally test the BLU-136 Next Generation Area Attack Weapon from July 8-24, 2020 at the Nellis Test and Training Range. The fragmentation of the BLU-136 is non-explosive, making it a less-hazardous alternative to cluster munitions.
  • ACC enlisted induct Gen. Holmes into Order of the Sword

    Air Combat Command's enlisted force honored its commander with an induction into the Order of the Sword at Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Virginia, Aug. 26. Gen. Mike Holmes, who has commanded ACC since March 2017, is the ninth ACC leader to be inducted into the ACC Order of the Sword.

  • 4th Fighter Squadron wraps up three weeks of training in Alaska

    The 388th Fighter Wing’s 4th Fighter Squadron, along with Reservists from the 419th Fighter Wing, returned Saturday after three weeks of training in Alaska, including Red Flag 20-3 at Eielson Air Force Base. Red Flag is a large force combat exercise that takes place several times each year at both Eielson and Nellis AFB, Nev., where a friendly “Blue Force” takes on an enemy “Red Force” over several days in a variety of taxing, combat-realistic scenarios.

  • Course developed at Hill AFB speeds training for new F-35 crew chiefs

    Crew chiefs newly-assigned to the F-35 have direct access to professional development thanks to a course recently created at Hill Air Force Base, which may be implemented throughout the Air Force. The first class of Airmen graduated Friday from the F-35 Crew Chief Upgrade Training course, which was developed jointly by the 372nd Training Squadron Detachment 3, and the 388th Maintenance Group, to help alleviate the training backlog for new maintainers.
