Schlichting is set to fly Thunderbird 3, becoming the teams right wing pilot. From a young age Schlichting knew she wanted to become a fighter pilot. She is followed her lifelong dream.

    For 100 years, women and their allies worked to obtain equal rights. They deployed radical campaigns, hunger strikes, and picketing at the White House. On Aug. 26, 1920, they achieved a major victory. The 19th Amendment was signed, prohibiting the government from denying the right to vote based on sex, giving women the right to vote.

    In recognition of Women’s Equality Day, which is observed on August 26, the commander of the 908th Expeditionary Air Refueling Squadron, U.S. Air Force Lt. Col. Lindsey Bauer, conceived a plan to execute a completely ‘unmanned’ KC-10 mission. On August 1, 2021, the KC-10 Extender aircraft taking off from ADAB was unlike all the rest: its mission was supported entirely by women.
  • AUAB supports Afghanistan evacuation efforts

    Since Aug. 14, the Department of Defense has been supporting the evacuation of qualified evacuees from Hamid Karzai International Airport in Kabul, Afghanistan to Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar. The Afghanistan evacuation operation is one of the largest airlifts in history, evacuating roughly 58,700 people within the first ten days under volatile circumstances.
